Alena graduated from Coventry University in 2006 and worked in the NHS and for UWIC RFC for the next 5 years. She then completed an MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine at Cardiff Met and went on to work full time at Leicester Tigers RFC for 3 years, where she was fortunate to work with many international and British and Irish Lions rugby players.

Alena then took up the role of Head Physiotherapist at Jersey Reds RFC for the next 3 seasons. Following a diagnosis of cancer, Alena returned to Wales and began working at Performance Physiotherapy in 2017. She initially combined this with working for Pontypool RFC and then went on to work as Head Physio for the Welsh Women’s Rugby team for 18 months.

Returning to Performance Physiotherapy in August 2020 Alena has now retrained and specialised in Cancer Rehabilitation Physiotherapy, using her personal and professional experience of Cancer and Physiotherapy to provide holistic care to Cancer survivors as well as continuing her provision of musculoskeletal physiotherapy for orthopaedic and sports injuries.
